Final Fantasy XII

Final Fantasy XII is the newest and yet to be released game under the series title. Set in the Ivalice, a medieval, yet technologically advanced world, the story promises to be much different from that of previous Final Fantasy’s. The SquareEnix has been quoted as saying that love and romance will not dominate the plotline. The game is really all about freedom, from oppression and war.

And after Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XII is back to having a male lead, although, many have argued that the lead role, is a dual one. With Vaan and Ashe, both being of equal importance.

Ashe is a princess with a tragic history. All her brothers have been lost to the war and her father is murdered by his most loyal knight. Left as heir to the throne of the kingdom of Dalmasca, neighbouring Empires are trying to dominate her small, buy strategically placed country. So Ashe does the only thing she can do, she flees, creating a rebel resistance group. Whose aim is to stop the war and liberate Dalmasca.

Along the way, Ashe meets Vaan, a young man whose life ambiton is to become a sky pirate. The epitome of freedom. And these two meet many others along the way who join their party, to fight for the liberation of Dalmasca. And how they free Dalmsca and it’s people from the vices of the neighbouring kingdoms, is what Final Fantay XII is all about.
